ArchivesHow I Read 30 Books in Two Months
I love reading. It’s my favorite thing to do, more than watching TV or eating chips and queso. Even more than sleeping (evidenced by the many, many nights I’ve stayed up way past my bedtime reading “just one more chapter”). However, I don’t always read well. This summer I’m doing things differently. Here’s how I’ve read 30 (mostly great) books in two months.
Taking Back the Short-Lived TV Show
Nothing is more heartbreaking to a TV fan than an early cancellation. But this month I’m taking back the short-lived show. Join me?

What to Watch When You Can’t Handle More Drama
Sometimes life is dramatic enough, am I right? Here are a few ideas for shows to watch when you just can’t even handle any more drama.
It’s Not Just the Way It Is
This post was originally published in 2017. On the way to the theater, we stopped at the gas station to stock up on M&Ms (a bag in every flavor except pretzel, because gross, and two bags of peanut butter, because delicious). As we got back on the road, I...
39 Books & Series to Read if You Love Letters (and Other Correspondence)
It seems like every new movie released these days is a sequel, a superhero story, or based on a book. Sometimes that irritates me, because surely there must be creators and artists out there coming up with original stories. Right? Somewhere? But other times -- when...
19 Romantic Comedies You Haven’t Seen Yet
Trying to verify the author of a quote -- and said quote's exact wording -- can feel just about impossible. I don't understand it. With all the information we have, how can we not know for sure, for sure if Mark Twain said, "The reports of my death have been greatly...
10 Things I Learned about Friendship from USA’s Playing House
This post was originally published in 2015, but time has not dulled my love for this show. I love it SO MUCH. So VERY much. I like TV and [some people say] I watch a lot of TV. And I really love talking to people about TV. I like a lot of different types of shows,...
So Many Movies, So Little Time (the Early 2019 Version)
Yesterday afternoon a friend texted and invited me to the movies. It was a last-minute thing that normally would have been impossible for me. But I actually found a babysitter in a matter of minutes, dinner was already in progress, and I didn't have anything pressing...

Fall & Winter Movie Roundup (aka, SO MANY MOVIES)
It's hard to believe I went through a season of feeling disappointed every time I was able to see a movie in the theater. It's true, though. More than date night and girls night ended without us finding a movie to watch. Clearly, in 2018, those days are behind us! We...
