Whew! We made it through the holiday movie season! I mean, technically we did. The calendar now says 2022. But I also still have several holiday movies lingering on my DVR. So I may watch a few more over the coming weeks. After all, it will still be winter so a cozy movie with fake snow is kinda-sorta relevant, right?
Right.
But for the most part, we’ve reached the end of the 2021 holiday movie season—and what a season it was! Nearly 200 new movies were released. Can you believe that? It’s just bonkers. And if we look at the average of all movies on all channels and streaming services, I’m not sure that the incredible quantity of movies translated to more quality. But while 2021 brought us more movies that were boring, annoying, or just plain low-quality, it also brought us lots of fantastic movies. More diversity. More inclusivity. More different types of people and different types of stories, and I am here for that!
Though I will probably watch a few more movies, I don’t anticipate any of them landing at the top of my list for the year. So today I’m bringing you my top 10 favorite Hallmark movies, top 10 favorite Lifetime movies, top 5 “other” movies, and the movies that landed on the bottom of my list.
