Admittedly, I cannot play the piano by ear – and most of my editing is done within an arm’s reach of my trusty AP Stylebook, a subscription to the Chicago Manual of Style, and the latest version of the Merriam-Webster Dictionary – but I believe that knowing where to turn for answers [and playing by the book] is half the battle when it comes to tricky questions of grammar and style.

Currently, I am a contract proofreader for Harvest House Publishers. I’ve also spent the past two decades working in communications, writing and editing messages of all sorts. From fighting cancer to selling dog food, from brainstorming to final edits, from ad agency to freelancing, I’ve made it my goal to craft copy that is clear, consistent, and compelling.
