I have to come clean. I’ve let my friend, Smitty, down. In a moment of weakness, of desperation, of boredom, I rented “What Happens in Vegas.” I know, I know. It looked wretched. And it starred Cameron Diaz.
But there wasn’t anything else to rent. Well, I wanted to watch Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2, but Mark got to vote, too.
So back to the movie. Was it predictable? Sure. Was it a typical chick flick? Yes. Did it star Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher? Yup.
But here it is: I liked it. It was funny. And I like predictable chick flicks, okay? And…I hate to say it, but I have to say it…I think Ashton Kutcher might be a little funny.
What about you? Seen any shockingly not bad movies lately?
i haven’t seen this movie, but ashton kutcher in ‘cheaper by the dozen’ was very funny
Ashton Kutcher’s from Iowa and went to the University of Iowa (briefly) :D
We thought this was much funnier (and sweeter) than expected, too.
Our last surprise hit was The Incredible Hulk – the newer one with Edward Norton. We expected to groan all the way through it, but it was actually really enjoyable. Good story, depth of character (at least the Hulk’s) and cool effects.
And we saw Bolt in the theater last weekend and laughed harder than we’ve laughed at a movie since Little Miss Sunshine.
Oh, I just thought of one. ‘The 40-Year-Old Virgin’ was on TV a while back and nothing else was on, so I actually had it on for most of the movie and it wasn’t nearly as bad as it sounded like it was going to be! I mean, it’s not one I’m going to purchase or anything, but it also wasn’t terrible and some parts were even funny. :)
Really, chelley? That is shocking! Because it sounds pretty bad!
You’re right, Amy – it was sweet. Mark rented The Incredible Hulk a few weeks ago; I just saw the last few minutes, but he said it was good.
I may regret this later, but I can’t wait for Photobaby to start appreciating animated movies!
I know it does, Photo. I was surprised I even gave it a chance b/c it sounded so bad. But it wasn’t completely worthless, I guess. :) I kind of enjoyed some of it. But yeah, I wouldn’t have ever rented it, like I said. And I was kind of embarrassed even to mention it here, but you asked. ;) And I haven’t sen the other movies you guys are mentioning, so there you go. ;)
I also saw What Happens in Vegas and was expecting it to be stupid and kind of trashy. Well, then why did I rent it? Anyway… it was pretty good after all. Don’t think I would recommend it to anyone though.
Last weekend, I rented Baby Mama and it was much better than I expected. I had Sisterhood 2 in my hand and then put it back. I’ll eventually rent it though. The first one was really good I thought.
Have to tell you this… Someone visited my blog today after googling Numol. lol!
Brenda, that’s so funny! How do you know how someone found your blog?
I have sitemeter on my blog and it shows who visited and if they found me by googling and what words they googled. It’s kind of fun and interesting to see who ends up on my blog from all around the world.
