When I saw the promo for A Gifted Man, the new CBS drama about a well-known surgeon who begins seeing his dead ex-wife and then, of course, questioning the meaning of life and his place in the world, I was struck by one thought: That woman is a dead ringer for Meryl Streep!
Okay, I did have one other thought: I don’t know what it is about Patrick Wilson, but I do not like him. But that is neither here nor there.
A Gifted Man stars Jennifer Ehle, who is apparently an accomplished stage actress but is probably best-known for her role in The King’s Speech (or a smaller role in Adjustment Bureau).
After looking through a bunch of photos, I can see now that they’re not identical twins. But Jennifer’s mannerisms are SO similar to Meryl’s (yes, I’m on a first-name basis with all my celebrity lookalikes, thank you very much) that to me, they are one and the same.
However, I will say that I also see a resemblance between Meryl Streep and Leighton Meester. (You’re welcome, Leighton, for THAT extremely favorable comparison.)
Either way, I have had the soundtrack from Mamma Mia in my head for HOURS.
No Meryl Streep pun intended, of course.
So, what do you think? Do you see it?
