Look, I know. Getting a DVR will change my life. And, okay, bring me into the 21st century. No longer will the scheduling whims of the network suits rule my life. Or something.
But here’s the thing about watching TV live (or later, taped on my barely breathing VCR): I kind of like watching commercials. Here’s a few of my recent favorites:
[Click here to see Honda – Road Trip.]
[Click here to see Cheerios – That’s for Babies.]
[Click here for Allstate – Raccoon Mayhem.]
[Click here to see Volkswagon Passat – The Force.]
Do you ever watch TV live? Do you like watching commercials? Any favorites you want to share?
love the Honda Pilot commercial, and so do my kids… but I HATE, HATE, HATE the Mayhem commercials. Like with a gut felt hatred. Like with an “I will never, ever, ever, buy all state insurance just because they ran these commercials” hatred.
In every other case, I agree with you on those horrid mayhem commercials. But we once had a raccoon in our attic, so this particular one cracks me up!
We DVR everything and still see some commercials. If you do get a DVR, “watch” out for the DVR guilt that can occur. There was even a study done on it. It is sort of a looming “to do” list of things that “need” to be watched. People feel more obligated or something. And, there is a sense of accomplishment when things are watched and erased.
Proof that I’m a nerd AND a TV addict? I love the fact that there’s been research done on DVR use and its effects!
