You heard me. None. That means said dessert is not and does not contain brownies or chocolate chip cookies or chocolate pudding or chocolate cake or a yellow cupcake with chocolate frosting or graham crackers with chocolate frosting or a chocolate pudding pop or a chocolate cake in a mug thing.
[Side note: Oh my goodness, not that you need further proof of my nerd-dom, but if you keep watching the Bill Cosby videos on that link, it will show a commercial for a Speak and Spell. I loved my Speak and Spell! I wish I still had one today! Okay, maybe not. But I can’t wait to get Annalyn started on nerdy toys like that.]
Back to our regular programming now. Back to dessert.
Oh yes, this mysterious non-chocolate dessert even contains . . . wait for it . . . fruit!
I know. I couldn’t believe it myself.
This summer, we are really loving Blue Bunny’s Double Peach Ice Cream. Usually fruit-flavored food has that not-necessarily-bad-but-not-necessarily-good artificial taste. But not this tasty treat! Honestly, it tastes like good vanilla ice cream (not the cheapo kind we usually buy) with fresh peaches.
I’m not even kidding.
[Also, side note #2, I’m not saying this because I got the ice cream for free or anything. It’s just good and we like it. Not that we wouldn’t take free ice cream. Because we would. Oh, we would.]
So, if you’re looking for a new summer sweet or if you happen to be one of those people who prefers fruity desserts over chocolate ones, I say try this one out. And, not to be overly dramatic or late-night informercial-ish, but you should probably do it soon. Mark says it’s a limited time special or something, so who knows how long it will be in stores.
And if you call now, they’ll throw in a set of Ginsu knives, too.
What’s your favorite summertime treat? Or, if you like, dessert in general?
This post is linked to Things I Love Thursday.
OMG Mary…that looks so yummy! I think I'm going to pick some up today…I mean HAVE to pick some up today! We love peaches at our house! Thanks for a great "non chocolate" dessert idea!
But why would I want to get started on it if they're just going to discontinue it?? I hate when they do that! And they're always doing it to my favorite things!
My favorite summertime treat or dessert in general? Hmm… maybe too hard of a decision, but I do like the peppermint/cookie ice cream bar available only at the Iowa State Fair — have to have that every year. :) (and no, it's not deep-fried and on a stick like most of the other fair foods;)
Only fruit? But in that first picture the (what I'm assuming is) peach juice looks like a drizzle of caramel sauce!
Things are kind of a bummer for me in the dessert dept. since I was diagnosed with diabetes in February. I do like fresh fruit salad with just a hint of sprinkled sugar and w/ crumbled graham crackers and sugar-free Cool Whip.
Hmm…maybe this ice cream you recommend can really be considered healthy b/c of the fruit? Yes! If I happen to see it at the grocer, I'm buying it!
That looks so good, gonna have to try it. I'm always looking for good desserts that don't have chocolate, somehow my oldest daughter doesn't like chocolate that much. Can't figure out that one…
Um…my favorite summer time treat is fruit salad…watermelon, cantelope, grapes…MMMMMMMMMMMMM (of course it is soooo much better if someone else makes it! :-D)
I love that ice cream too! Thanks for visiting me at "Pleasing to You" … Loved your comment … One planner to another!
I have my SPeak and Spell!! And it still works. My girls play with it all the time at my mom's house. How jealous are you?? Ice cream = yummy. It really doesn't matter to me what flavor it is :)
Oh yummmmmmm…that looks DELICIOUS!!
Oooh, looks so refreshing!
May be if I call now I can get a shamwow and a snuggie too…
Missing all my blog friends this week — haven't been doing my usual catching up with all the stuff happening in Chicago with my sister's wedding….TWO MORE DAYS!!!
Hugs!
Hmmm, I've never heard of Blue Bunny brand, but I'll look for it now. That peach ice cream sounds delish. I usually go for something chocolatey nutty or coffee mocha flavor and my husband gets the fruity stuff like lemon fluff or even worse… vanilla! I do have to say though that I really like pumpkin ice cream, but it's seasonal.
Oh, I just thought of a summertime treat… iced coffees. While on vacation recently, I found myself craving these more than a regular dessert. While others wanted ice cream or frozen yogurt, I wanted a blended iced coffee. Mmmm.
