Do you know Melanie of Only a Breath (@MelanieAnneTN on Twitter)? You might have noticed her lovely logo over there in my sidebar. I have loved getting to know Melanie through her blog over the past few months, and I wanted to introduce you to her.

Melanie writes about parenting, her faith, books and the occasional giveaway. More importantly, though, Melanie uses her blog to encourage other women, writing about life lessons learned from laundry to The Price is Right. (You know I love me some life lessons learned from the TV!) She’s also created Encouragement is Contagious, a carnival for sharing great blog posts (of others) you’ve read recently.

Here’s how Melanie describes herself:

I’m a small-town, southern girl who married a handsome pilot (and cheesehead!) from Wisconsin. We’ve discovered that sweet tea and bratwursts are a great combination, and our kids have very interesting accents, as you can imagine! We live in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains of East Tennessee and love it here!

We have two sweet boys, Isaac and Jeremiah, who keep us laughing and who never, ever run out of energy! I work full-time as a software-developer and really enjoy my job. Yes, I’m an official “computer geek”! My friends describe me as bubbly, sweet, encouraging, fun and sunny. I asked my 6 year-old to describe Mommy, and he said “undefeated on Mario – and that’s pretty cool!”.

I would describe myself as a simple, ordinary girl who loves to laugh and is in love with an awesome God. Psalm 39 is one of my favorite Psalms and has become my ‘motto’ for living each day to the fullest to appreciate each step of my journey.

I am only a breath… and so are you, sweet friend.
