My brain is not fully functioning these days, and I’m actually stuck in the hospital for an extra day. Apparently post-partum pre-eclampsia is a thing – and I’ve got it. So extra meds and monitoring for me, while our baby girl keeps on being the sweetest thing we’ve ever seen.
UPDATE: Though my blood pressure is misbehaving (and kind of freaking me out), it’s not technically pre-eclampsia, thank God. This morning’s lab work said so and put my mind (a little more) at ease.
Adrienne Grace was 8 pounds, 9 ounces, and 21 inches long – more than twice what Annalyn weighed when she was born!!! Everything went smoothly on Monday morning for my c-section, and she’s sweet, healthy and practically perfect in every way. At least that’s what we think!
Here are some photos:
She’s gorgeous! Congrats and thank God for a safe delivery.
Hope you are better and can go home ASAP
Beautiful, beautiful. Congratulations! I just found you on Instagram so I can stalk more baby photos. =)
She’s adorable! Congrats! :)
Congratulations she is beautiful!
Oh, so precious! Love the black and white with big sis holding. Congrats –
Congratulations, Mary and family!
Thank you!!
Ugh, sorry to hear you have that, I did too! I hope you’re past it soon and are able to go home quickly. I literally thought I was going to go insane if I had to stay there any longer!! 8 nights & 9 days is puh-lenty! But glad you are in good hands, better to stay there and get all better rather than go home and still be sick. I’ll be praying for a swift recovery!
On a much happier note, Adrienne is so absolutely perfect and precious!!!! I’m so glad to hear that things went so smoothly this time. It’s honestly very encouraging for my situation as well. :) May God give you renewed strength and grace in the coming days, weeks, and months! Love & hugs my friend.
Thank you! :) And YES, my stay with Annalyn was 8 days and that IS way too long! Also, when it came time to be discharged this time, I felt exactly like you said – I was nervous to leave in case I was still sick. Ugh. So many conflicting emotions involved in this baby business!!!
Congratulations, Mary! She is precious!
Thank you!!
She IS sweet, and practically perfect in every way. I hope you’ll be back in good health soon. Blessings and grace to you. (I don’t think your brain would be functioning that well even WIHOUT post-partum pre-eclampsia. Bless your heart!)
Thanks, Betsy!! (And oh my, I am STILL waiting for my brain to function properly!!)
So sweet! And you look awesome, especially for just having a baby!
Thank you, Andrea! (And I promise it took many takes to get that one good photo!) :)
Congratulations! She is beautiful, and looks like she has a wonderful big sister! I’m glad they caught your postpartum pre-e before you were discharged…hope they can get you home soon!
Thank you, Stacey!!
CONGRATULATIONS!! Great news that all went smoothly this time and a big girl too!
May I just say that you look fantastic in your Mommy and baby pic? I don’t think I looked presentable again for months afterward… of course my second Daughter had colic and that was so not fun. =(
I will be praying for your healing and health so you can go home. In the meantime, let them wait on you!
Best!
Lina
Oh, Lina, you’re so sweet. I have certainly looked NOT presentable more days than not since that first photo. I just don’t post pictures of those days online. :)
Hang in there, I got very sick with bp problem with my first. Had to stay in the hospital for 4 days. I’ll be praying for you that you can leave soon and have a fast recovery.
Thank you, Jenny!
Ah! Congratulations and blessings! May you recover well and be blessed with all the grace and strength you need to be the mommy to your two precious girls. What sweet photos! Shalom to you all xx
Thank you, Lara! I need a whole lot of grace and strength these days!!
Congratulations, Mary! She’s beautiful. :)
Thanks, Anne!!
Congratulations! She is absolutely beautiful. So glad it went well. And while I hope your blood pressure calms down very soon–why in the world do you want to leave the hospital? They clean for you, cook for you, refill your water…what more could you want? :)
Haha – part of me didn’t want to leave. But part of me wanted to burn that stupid hospital bed before spending another night in it. (Yeah…it’s possible I was already feeling the raging hormones…) :)
“Practically perfect”…uhm, no. Perfect!
I love the picture of you and her. So beautiful!
Congratulations!
Aww, thanks, Sarah! :)
What a beautiful baby! Hope you’re feeling better and home soon. :)
Thank you, Kristy!!
So, so happy for you. She is precious and I’m so glad you’re OK and everything went well. xoxo
Thanks, Leigh! (I know. A belated thank you. I haven’t gotten around to any real thank you notes for this past month either. Giving up on perfect and all that…) :)
Congratulations Mary, Mark and Annalyn. Adrienne is so beautiful. She actually IS perfect! ;-) Hoping and praying all the best for you during this precious time. xo
Thanks, Adele!! :)
Congratulations to you and your family! Such a beautiful addition!
Thank you, Cindy!!
I can’t get enough of those gorgeous pictures! She is absolutely beautiful. Congratulations, Mary!
Thank you, Shelly!
Congratulations, Mary!! She’s so beautiful and I hope your birthing experience was redeemed a little from the trauma you went through with Annalyn.
Thank you! And yes, mostly…yes. :)
So happy for you and your family….enjoy your tiny one and I hope you have time to read all those good books. I came across your blog and boy do I need to give up my tendency towards perfection. Life is messy, your right, and we may as well enjoy each day we are blessed with.
Thank you, Kris! And yes…life is super messy, but beautiful, too!
Congratulations Mary and family. She is a beauty.
Thank you!!!
