A few weeks ago, I was struck by lightning. Metaphorically, of course. I don’t remember if I was driving or showering or trying to go to sleep, but out of nowhere, BAM! I was hit by a brilliant idea. Brilliant, I tell you!
Part of this supposed brilliant idea included my 31 Days series, and the other had to do with another project that I am DYING to tell you about. Both parts involve a lot of work. Fun work — but work nonetheless. And extra work on top of regular [busy] life. Still, I forged on, because what else was I supposed to do? I’d had a stroke of genius; it would be irresponsible NOT to act on it!
Except…
I forgot that I’m not capable of working ’round the clock without stop. I forgot that I have two little people and a husband who depend on me stepping away from the computer at least every once in a while. I forgot…that I’m human. And so, I give you my 2016 experience with the 31 Days writing project, in GIFs:
So, there you have it. I’m a crazy person and a quitter. But legitimately inspired by pop culture. So I’m still going to write about pop culture and faith stuff this month. I’m just not going to pretend like I can manage to do it every day this time around. Cool? Cool.
How’s your October going so far? Quit anything good lately?
If this is your first time linking up with WFMW here, PLEASE read the guidelines I shared in this post. Highlights include linking your specific post, not the front page of your blog, and making sure to include a link back to this site in your WFMW. Thank you!!
Good for you!!! I was rooting for you, but thinking, I’m glad it’s not me!!!! I can barely post twice a week. Don’t feel bad, Love the GIFs, those made my day. Go have some coffee and relax.
It’s pretty unreasonable for me to think I can go from rarely twice a week to every day! :) Thank you for the grace!
OhMyGoodness, those gifs were hilarious! And I could totally post them on my blog, too – every night (as I stay up until some ridiculous hour) I say to myself, “WHAT was I thinking??” We will survive the month, Mary! :)
I feel like I could express pretty much every emotion ever with GIFs. ;)
Is it possible that this is my all-time favorite post of yours??? It’s so…YOU! Anyway, not one of your literary achievements but funny and oh so true and oh so relateable. I really wanted to do #write31days again this year, but then a bomb fell on my head. Metaphorically, of course…
I’m glad it wasn’t a real bomb. ;) And thank you. It’s one of my favorite posts, too.
I love this so much more than any 31 days series. Also I wish you lived closer because I’m totally having a Gilmore Girls viewing party and I’d invite you.
What Alia said – ESPECIALLY about the viewing party!!
love it, mary!! :)
I love you and this so much.
This is awesome! Add this to your genius! Great entertainment after too many hours of hurricane Matthew.
